Real grass, grown right
in Greenville soil

Zack builds lawns and sports turf that hold up. Every job starts by reading the soil, because the wrong seed on the wrong ground is how a yard ends up mud and weeds.

Grass is the cheap part of a lawn, and the expensive part is paying to put the same yard in twice.

Why us

What you get with Gurule Landscaping.

01

Grading and drainage prep

Water takes new grass out, whether it sits in a low corner or runs the seed off a slope. Grading and drainage prep is one of the jobs he does, so the water has somewhere to go before seed goes down.

02

He takes on failed lawns

Lawn repair and renovation is its own service here, for yards that already had grass put down once and lost it. One of the four reviews behind his 5 star rating came from a customer who called him in after another company's job failed.

03

Overseeding where it works

Seeding and overseeding will bring a thin lawn back when the ground under it is sound. Full renovation is the other route, and which one a yard gets depends on what the soil work turns up.

04

Turf that takes traffic

Sports turf gets played on, so it has to be built for wear from the ground up. Zack does playing surfaces as well as home lawns.

What we do

What Gurule Landscaping does

Grass and ground work for homes and sports fields around Greenville. Whatever the job, Zack sorts the ground out before he puts seed on it.

Soil work and topsoil

The part most people skip. Zack inspects your ground, works out what it is missing, and brings in topsoil so new grass has something to root into instead of packed clay.

Seeding and overseeding

Seed picked for your specific yard, not whatever is on the truck. Sun, shade, drainage and soil all change what will take, so Zack chooses the mixture after he has looked at the ground.

Lawn repair and renovation

For yards gone to mud, weeds or bare dirt, including ones another company already tried to fix. Zack clears the area first, then rebuilds it from the ground up.

Sports turf

Fields and play areas have to stand up to traffic. Grass that takes cleats and constant running needs a different base and a different mix than a front lawn.

Landscape design

Planning what goes where before anything is planted: grading, beds, planting areas, and how water moves across the property so the finished yard works year round.

Grading and drainage prep

Water sitting in low spots kills grass and turns a yard into a swamp. Zack shapes the ground first, before any seed goes down.

Who we are

Zack looks at the dirt before he sells you grass

Plenty of yards around Greenville sit on hard red clay with a thin layer of nothing on top. Seed thrown over that will sprout, look good for a few weeks, then wash out with the first hard rain. So Gurule Landscaping starts underneath: check the soil, work out what it is short of, bring in topsoil where the ground needs it, and only then pick a seed mixture that ground can actually carry.

That is also why people call after another company has already been out and left the yard worse than it started. The Google rating sits at 5 stars across 4 reviews, and the ones that are posted say much the same thing: the lawn finally looks right. Call (864) 419-6089 and Zack will come out and see what you are working with.

FAQ

Good questions.

Why did my last grass job fail?

Usually the seed went straight onto clay with no soil prep, or the mixture was wrong for how much sun and water that part of the yard gets. It sprouts, then thins out or gets choked by weeds. Zack checks the soil first so the second attempt is not a repeat of the first.

Can you fix a yard another company already worked on?

Yes. Zack clears the area, corrects the soil, then puts the right seed down. Tell him what the last crew did so he knows what he is dealing with.

When is the right time to seed in the Upstate?

It depends on whether your yard suits cool season or warm season grass, and that comes back to the soil and how much sun the space gets. Call and describe the yard and Zack will tell you the window. Sometimes the honest answer is to wait a few weeks.

How do I get someone out to look at my yard?

Call (864) 419-6089. Hours are 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday and 7am to noon on Saturday. Zack comes out, looks at the soil and the drainage, and tells you what the yard actually needs.
