Bathroom and interior remodeling · Cornelius, NC

The bathroom you put off.

Rocco does the work. Rosie answers the phone. Between the two of them you get one crew in the house, one number to call, and a finish date that means something.

A finished master bathroom in Cornelius: marble look tile to the ceiling, a frameless glass shower door, a recessed niche and black hexagon floor tile. Master bath, Cornelius. The client's own photograph.

One corner of one house

Drag it across.

A fibreglass surround and a builder grade tub went out. A tiled shower, a frameless glass door and a niche deep enough for actual shampoo bottles went in.

These are the client's own photographs, taken on a phone before the first swing and after the last wipe down. Nothing staged, nothing styled.

Before: the master bathroom with a yellowed fibreglass shower surround, a dated tile floor, a builder grade tub and a single glass panel.
After: the same corner rebuilt with a marble look tiled shower, a frameless glass door, a recessed niche, black hexagon floor tile and brushed nickel fixtures.

How the job runs

You know where you stand at every step.

The hard part of hiring a contractor is not the money. It is not knowing what happens next, who is turning up, or whether anyone will call you back.

  1. You call Rosie picks up. If she is on a job site she calls back the same day, which is the part most people have given up expecting.
  2. We come and look At the house, not over the phone. You get a written estimate off what is actually there, including the things behind the wall that nobody wants to find later.
  3. You pick materials Rosie brings samples to the room they are going in. Tile is a different colour in a showroom than it is in your bathroom at seven in the morning.
  4. Rocco builds it One craftsman from demo to the last piece of trim. You are not meeting a new subcontractor every morning, and the same person who started it finishes it.
From the Yelp page

Word for word.

Transcribed in full from the review AJ left in July. Nothing trimmed to make it read better.

From my very first phone call to this company I was very impressed. They were right on the ball. They called me back immediately, came the same day for an estimate which was very reasonable.

Rocco's who did my bathroom was amazing and the work he did was perfection which I have found these days is hard to find. Not only did he do great work, he was just a pleasant person to have around and now he feels like part of the family. Rosie was a sweetheart and made sure she connected with us on any updates as to his arrival and they were always punctual. If I had any questions she would get back to me immediately.

I will be using them again for my next project. I highly recommend them.

Who you deal with

Two people. That is the whole company.

Rosie

Owner and designer

She takes the call, comes out to the house, writes the estimate and tells you when Rocco is arriving. Ask her something mid job and you get an answer back quickly, which is the part most people have stopped expecting from a contractor.

Rocco

Lead craftsman

He does the work. Demo, waterproofing, tile, glass, trim. AJ's review put it better than we could: by the end of the job he felt like part of the family.

Where we work

Cornelius, and the towns around the lake.

We are based in Cornelius and most jobs are within about twenty minutes of it.

  • Cornelius
  • Davidson
  • Huntersville
  • Mooresville
  • Denver
  • Troutman
  • North Charlotte

Somewhere just off this list? Call anyway. It is a short conversation either way.

Questions

The ones people ask on the first call.

How fast can you come and look at it?

AJ called and we were out the same day. That is what we aim for, though it depends which week you catch us in. Either way you get a straight answer about when, not a maybe.

Who actually does the work?

Rocco, start to finish. You are not opening the door to a different subcontractor every morning, and the person who tore the old shower out is the person who sets the last tile.

Can you help me choose tile and fixtures?

That is Rosie's side of it. She brings samples to the room they are going in and looks at them in that light, because tile reads completely differently in a showroom than it does in your bathroom at seven in the morning.

What does a bathroom cost?

Nobody can answer that over the phone and be honest about it. What moves the number: the size of the room, whether the layout stays where it is, what is behind the walls, the tile you pick and how much glass you want. Rosie prices it at the house, in writing.

How long will my bathroom be out of action?

Depends on the room and on how quickly materials land. You get a date at the estimate rather than a vague range, and if something behind the wall changes it, you hear about it the day we find it.

Which towns do you cover?

Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Mooresville, Denver, Troutman and the north side of Charlotte. If you are just outside that, call anyway.

Next step

One number. Someone picks it up.

Tell Rosie what room you are looking at and roughly when you want it done. She will get you a date to come and see it.
